Starbucks wants its customers to stay a while, grab a beverage, and pull up a seat. Patrons will have access to new amenities and services, including the addition of pistachio and new matcha versions. These changes go into effect on January 27. Starbucks representatives say that the changes are meant to promote sustainability and create a community-like atmosphere.
Starbucks’ ‘For Here Experience‘ has undergone four major changes.
You can find everything from ceramic mugs to creamers that you can customise at your local café.
1. Mugs are back!
The customer will be asked if they want their order here or take-out. All orders here will be served either in a glass or ceramic mug or the customer’s own reusable cup. This is to encourage social gatherings and reduce waste.
Starbucks moved away from in-store beverage cups during the COVID-19 Pandemic, but will introduce personal reusable cups using contactless technology in late 2020.

2. Get Free Refills
You can enjoy unlimited refills of coffee or tea in the café, whether it’s hot or iced. Refills are only available for the same visit. This excludes Cold Brew or Nitro Cold Brew, Iced Tea Lemonade, and flavoured Iced Tea. The drinks are only for the customer’s reusable cups or beverage ware. This means that you will not be able to refill your plastic to-go cup.
3. Condiment Bar
Starbucks is now allowing customers to customise their drinks by adding their creamer and milk at the condiment bar. Starbucks encourages customers to ask their baristas if they don’t have the milk type that they want. Sweeteners will be available at the condiment bar in sugar, Stevia, Sugar in Raw and Sugar in the RAW. This helps reduce waste and allows customers to try out different add-ons.

4. Clean, Safe Environment
Starbucks is responding to the feedback of customers and staff who stated that comfortable seating, a clean and safe environment, and an inviting atmosphere were their top priorities. Starbucks has implemented a Coffeehouse Code of Conduct, which prohibits loitering by non-customers in public spaces such as the patio, café, or restrooms. The rules also prohibit alcohol, smoking, vaping, and harassment.
